Mountain Drums
Cedar Mountain is a community. We work, play, love and support each other
through talking circles, drumming circles and a commitment to form lifelong friendships.
Everyone here loves what they do. Each drum, rattle, or other product is handcrafted on
our premises. Every drummaker has
gone through an apprentice program where they are taught all aspects of drum making,
including prayerful intent, smudging and presence. We also make Native American style
rattles, dreamcatchers, shields, leather bags and talking sticks. The important thing here
at Cedar Mountain is that we approach our work with respect and loving intent. None of us
create these products just "for the money". Ours is a True Labor of Love.
Patrick Pinson is the
founder. Cedar Mountain was created following a Vision Quest by Patrick, who had made
drums as a hobby for two years. Patrick had previously been a Gestalt Therapist,
stockbroker, fund raising consultant and play therapist. He has published many articles on
drumming as an alternative to drugs and alcohol to achieve high states, and has lead
drumming circles for corporations such as Nike, The Design Management Institute, prisons,
churches and rehabilitation houses. Patrick leads weekly drumming circles here at our
home. Patrick also leads circles for men, personal growth groups, and travels doing shows
and drummaking workshops across the world.
